I come from a family of musicians so rhythms and beats are always is my head and music is always playing in my home or in the car. Adding a good playlist to our practice can enhance the ability to be in the moment and connect deeper to the feeling of breathing. Not to mention songs bring us back in time or to a place in the mind so for me, music is an essential component to a yoga class.
