Vinyasa Flow by Leda Jo
This playlist is perfect compliment to a sweaty vinyasa flow to help build heat and strength during the cold winter months. It’s starts mellow to help you arrive in the moment and tune into your body. Then it moves right into ambient remixes of Bob Marley songs. A little reggae and dub always help bring some heat and sunshine to a cold winter practice. (editor’s note: you can also find a little sunshine by looking at this epic photo of Leda from last summer. #watermelonmermaid! you’re welcome.)
Once things start to get challenging and sweaty, the dub theme continues with electronic dun grooves from Tosca to help keep things moving. During the transition to the cool down I choose to play instrumental funk, to keep things playful. Finally, to really mellow things out, I chose a very psychedelic song by Black Sabbath. I feel this song helps draw you back to the mind and let go of the body, to prepare for savasana, and plus, who doesn’t feel like badass doing yoga to Black Sabbath??
Typically I make yoga playlist with minimal lyrics. I feel using very lyrical songs and remove your from the present and be distracting, and having strong instrumental songs allows for your breath to be the lyrics of the song. I hope you enjoy…. rock on!
